My Workshops

2009

I am a visiting assistant professor at Miami University in the Psychology Department. I completed my doctorate at Miami in August 2007. My undergraduate degree is from Cornell College (Mt. Vernon, IA). Cornell is a wonderful school (liberal arts, fantastic faculty-to-student ratio, high level of student engagement), and I loved the immersive OCAAT (one course at a time) academic calendar. The educational experiences I had at Cornell very much shaped who I am as a person and an academic today.

Today, I live and work in Oxford, Ohio. As much as I love Iowa, I am enjoying the mild Ohio winters! I have several pets (dogs and house rabbits) and am involved in a number of animal welfare organizations. Each semester, I teach three courses in the Psychology Department on the Oxford campus. Courses I have taught include; Introduction to Psychology, Social Psychology, Lifespan Development, Personality, Cognitive Psychology, Psychological Statistics, Psychological Methods, Adolescence, Seminar in Social Psychology, Seminar in Developmental Psychology. I also run a research/teaching lab with approximately 14 students (teaching assistants, research assistants, and honor’s thesis students). The students in my lab are dedicated, intelligent, and fun to work with-- one of the highlights of my work! Occasionally, one of my students may help out with a workshop, and I hope you enjoy interacting with them as much as I do!
